Abbondanza Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2023 is a joyful, bountiful celebration of everything great about everyday Italian red wine—literally, abbondanza means “abundance” in Italian, and this bottle delivers exactly that.

Crafted by the Talamonti family in Loreto Aprutino (Abruzzo), high on hills between the snowy peaks of Gran Sasso and the salty breezes of the Adriatic, this certified-organic 100% Montepulciano is vibrant, fresh, and supremely drinkable. The 2023 vintage was fermented in stainless steel for about 10 days, then rested 4 months in large neutral oak—keeping the fruit front and center while adding just enough polish.

In the glass it shows a deep, glowing ruby hue. The nose bursts with ripe black cherry, dark berries, and a savory whisper of Mediterranean herbs and spice. On the palate it’s medium-bodied and gloriously juicy: plush black-fruit flavors, bright acidity, soft tannins, and a clean, slightly spicy finish that makes you reach for the next sip (or the next glass). At 13% ABV and usually offered in a generous 1-liter bottle, it’s gloriously gluggable.
