CATCH & RELEASE Anyone Anytime Anyplace Red '23 is a versatile, chillable red blend from Catch & Release Wines, the Sonoma-based producer specializing in low-intervention, high-drinkability California wines with personality and freshness.

Blend & Winemaking

This 2023 Fall Release is a thoughtful mix of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 15% Chardonnay, sourced from organically farmed vineyards:

• Syrah from the Quatro Esquines vineyard in Sonoma Valley (farmed by David Rothschild) — brings rich, grounding depth.
• Grenache from Mendocino — adds structure and lively "zazz."
• Chardonnay from Ukiah (Mendocino County) — lifts the blend with bright acidity.

Winemaking stays minimal and precise:

• Syrah fermented whole-cluster in stainless steel, then aged 18 months in neutral oak.
• Grenache de-stemmed, fermented in stainless, and aged 10 months in neutral oak.
• Chardonnay direct-pressed, barrel-fermented, and rested on lees for 6 months.
• The components were blended and bottled unfiltered with native yeast fermentation and only a minimal addition of SO₂.

The result is a 13% ABV light-to-medium-bodied red with serious structure but easy, crowd-pleasing drinkability.

Tasting Notes

On the nose and palate: swirling red fruits (raspberry, delicate strawberry, blackberry) meet grounding earthen tones, white pepper, tomato leaf, anise, and thyme. It opens savory and herbal up front, then balances with juicy red fruit and a potpourri-like complexity that evolves nicely in the glass (and in bottle).

It delivers the niceties of a proper red wine — texture, depth, and structure — while remaining refreshingly chillable and chuggable.
