D&J Crochet Sancerre 2024 AOC Sancerre, Loire Valley
Domaine Dominique et Janine Crochet is a multi-generational family estate based in the excellent village of Bué. The 2024 is 100% Sauvignon Blanc drawn from a mix of classic Sancerre soils (limestone/caillottes, clay, and silex) across strong parcels including Chêne Marchand, Grand Chemarin, and La Côte de Bué. Hand-harvested (older vines up to 70 years) and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel while converting to organic practices.
Pale, bright gold. The nose is pure and lifted: green apple, quince, yellow pear, citrus zest, and a clear chalky/stony minerality with hints of jasmine and cut grass. On the palate it’s vibrant, dry, and precise—crisp acidity, juicy stone fruit, and a long, saline-mineral finish that speaks of Bué’s limestone slopes.
