DOMAINE de la Petite Soeur Gamins is a vibrant, natural red wine crafted by Adrien de Mello at his biodynamic estate in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné, Anjou, in France’s Loire Valley. This wine is made from 100% Grolleau, a native Loire grape, sourced from 35-year-old vines grown on schist soils. The grapes undergo a short semi-carbonic maceration followed by fermentation and a 6-month élevage in stainless steel, with no added sulfites, fining, or filtration, preserving its raw, authentic character. Gamins pours a bright ruby red and bursts with juicy, playful flavors of red cherry, raspberry, and a hint of black pepper, underpinned by a crisp acidity and a light, refreshing body. At around 11.5% ABV, it’s an easy-drinking yet expressive wine with a touch of wildness, reflecting its natural winemaking ethos. Perfect for chilling slightly, it pairs beautifully with charcuterie, soft cheeses, or light poultry dishes, embodying the carefree spirit its name—“kids” in French—suggests.
