DOMAINE de la Petite Soeur Les Gâts is an expressive natural wine crafted by Adrien de Mello at his small biodynamic estate in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné, Anjou, within France’s Loire Valley. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from two distinct parcels—one with 45-year-old vines over schist and another with 30-year-old vines over clay—this wine reflects its unique terroir. The grapes undergo a 9-day skin maceration, followed by fermentation and a 6-month élevage in stainless steel, with no added sulfites, fining, or filtration. The result is a vibrant, textured vin orange with a pale amber hue, offering an aromatic bouquet of tropical fruit, rose, and lychee. On the palate, it balances finesse and tension with light tannins, exotic fruit notes, and a floral finish, delivering a fresh, saliva-inducing complexity. At around 12% ABV, Les Gâts is a lively, authentic expression of natural winemaking, perfect for pairing with rich fish, shellfish, or vegetarian dishes.
