A bright, sun-drenched rosé from the rugged coastal hills of Saint-André in the southern Roussillon (between Banyuls and Port-Vendres), this is Domaine Carterole’s fresh and vibrant take on Provençal-style rosé with a Mediterranean soul.
Crafted by Joachim Roque from Syrah and Grenache Noir (direct-pressed together from his newer vineyard plots), the 2024 vintage was aged in stainless steel tanks. The result is a crisp, dry, and supremely drinkable rosé that captures the zippy energy of Grenache and the gentle structure of Syrah — all with zero added sulfur and minimal intervention.
In the glass, it shows a pale, shimmering pink with a delicate bouquet of ripe strawberries, wild roses, tangerine zest, and a whisper of lavender and wet stone. On the palate, it’s lively and precise: a dance of red berries (raspberry, strawberry), bright citrus (grapefruit and peach), Mediterranean herbs, and refreshing acidity, with just a touch of fine tannic grip from the Syrah for backbone. The finish is long, graceful, and floral — rose petal and citrus zest lingering beautifully.
