DOMAINE PIERRE-OLIVIER BONHOMME Le Telquel

Le Telquel 2023 is a vibrant, natural red wine from Domaine Pierre-Olivier Bonhomme in the Loire Valley, France, a continuation of the Puzelat-Bonhomme négociant project. Primarily Gamay, with a splash of Grolleau and Pineau d’Aunis, sourced from organic vineyards on clay, limestone, and flinty soils in Touraine. The grapes undergo whole-cluster, 15-day semi-carbonic maceration in tronconic wooden vats, followed by six months of aging in old oak barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal or no added sulfur (up to 15 mg/L if needed), this light-to-medium-bodied wine (13% ABV) bursts with juicy red berry notes—blackberry, raspberry, and cherry—complemented by floral hints, black pepper, and a touch of spice. Its bright acidity and subtle minerality make it a refreshing, “glouglou” style wine, perfect slightly chilled (14–16°C) with charcuterie, burgers, or grilled poultry. The name “Telquel,” a playful pun on “Teckel” (Dachshund) and “as is,” reflects its approachable, vintage-driven character.
