Il Folicello Lambrusco Rosso is a vibrant, organic sparkling red wine from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, produced by the dedicated husband-and-wife team, Antonella and Marco Folicello. Crafted using the ancestral method, this wine undergoes a natural bottle fermentation with native yeasts, capturing its lively effervescence and authentic character. Made primarily from the Lambrusco Grasparossa grape, grown on rocky limestone and clay soils, it reflects the terroir of the Folicello estate in Castelfranco Emilia, near Modena.
This Lambrusco pours a deep ruby red with violet hues and a fleeting, velvety mauve foam, hinting at its unfiltered, lees-aged nature. The nose is fresh and aromatic, bursting with notes of blackberry, red currant, and crushed flowers like carnations, layered with subtle hints of dried herbs—thyme and sage—and a touch of musky earth. On the palate, it’s dry and refreshing, with a soft, fizzy texture, bright acidity, and flavors of juicy black cherry, tart blueberry, and a whisper of salted licorice, balanced by grippy tannins and a crisp, zesty finish.
