Fres.co Rosé of Primitivo 2024
Sourced from the Benguerel Family Vineyard in Kenwood, Sonoma Valley, Fres.co’s Rosé of Primitivo 2024 is a vibrant, natural wine crafted by winemaker Jack Sporer. Grown by Ross Cannard on Los Robles series gravelly clay loam using regenerative, dry-farmed practices without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, this 100% Primitivo rosé reflects Sonoma’s terroir. Half the grapes were foot-trod and macerated for several hours to extract delicate color and flavor, then pressed with the entire lot and fermented in stainless steel tanks using native yeast. The wine finished dry in neutral French oak barrels over a four-month élevage, with lees stirring and full malolactic fermentation to enhance texture and body. Only 30 ppm sulfur was added at bottling, and the wine remains unfined and unfiltered, yielding harmless solids. With an alcohol content of 13.3%, it offers bright notes of raspberry, watermelon, melon rind, and a touch of briny minerality, balanced by crisp acidity. Ideal for pairing with seafood, light salads, or charcuterie, this rosé embodies Fres.co’s commitment to low-intervention, sustainable winemaking
