Gaspard Touraine Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, refreshing white wine hailing from the Touraine region of France’s Loire Valley, a stone’s throw from the famed Sancerre appellation. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, it’s sourced from sustainably or organically farmed vineyards with clay-limestone soils, where vines range from 10 to 60 years old. The wine showcases the classic Loire style with a vibrant twist—think freshly cut grass, zesty lemon verbena, and juicy citrus notes like grapefruit and orange zest, layered with hints of tropical fruit and a chalky minerality that reflects its terroir.
Crafted with care, the grapes are pressed and left to settle for 48 hours before fermenting with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. It’s aged on fine lees for six months, adding a subtle texture, then lightly filtered without fining, keeping it vegan-friendly and true to its natural roots. With a bright acidity and medium body, it’s less grapefruity than New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, offering a more herbaceous, elegant profile at a fraction of Sancerre’s price.
