The 2024 Guilhem Rosé from Moulin de Gassac is a vibrant, organic dry rosé from the sun-drenched Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France, crafted by the visionary Guibert family of Mas de Daumas Gassac fame. Named after St. Guilhem, the patron saint of the picturesque village of Aniane, this approachable wine draws from 25- to 50-year-old vines of Grenache (40%), Carignan (40%), and Cinsault (20%), grown on stony, schistous soils along the Gassac River. The 2024 vintage, benefiting from a warm yet balanced growing season, emphasizes freshness and fruit purity, with minimal intervention and stainless steel fermentation to preserve its lively character. In the glass, it shimmers with a pale salmon-pink hue, evoking Provençal elegance. The bouquet bursts with fresh strawberries, ripe raspberries, and subtle wildflowers, accented by hints of peach, citrus zest, and a whisper of garrigue herbs. On the palate, it's juicy and textured, offering flavors of summery red berries, apricot, and watermelon, woven with bright acidity, a touch of minerality, and a clean, dry finish that invites another sip. Light-bodied yet harmonious, it captures the essence of Mediterranean summers—thirst-quenching and effortlessly charming.
