Jean-Yves Péron’s Casa Rossa VDF Red is a vibrant, natural wine from his “I Vicini” project, crafted with organic growers in Piedmont, Italy. This cuvée blends Grignolino, Freisa, and Barbera grapes from vineyards in Casale Monferrato. Grignolino undergoes a two-month carbonic maceration, while Freisa and Barbera are direct-pressed, creating a deep pink, almost red rosé. Aged for one year in 400-liter oak barrels and another year in bottle, it’s bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without added sulfites. The wine bursts with aromas of strawberry, redcurrant, peony, and pomegranate, offering lively acidity, juicy red fruit, subtle spice, and an earthy finish. Ideal for pairing with rich Italian dishes like tajarin al ragù bianco, it’s a versatile, fruit-driven wine perfect for cooler seasons.
