Las Jaras Glou Glou 2024 is the iconic chillable red from the dynamic California winery founded by winemaker Joel Burt and comedian Eric Wareheim (of Tim & Eric fame), embodying their playful, approachable approach to natural-leaning wines. This vintage is a lively blend of 56% Zinfandel, 33% Carignan, 6% Sangiovese, and 5% Valdiguié, sourced from organically farmed vineyards in Mendocino County. Multiple fermentation techniques—including carbonic maceration for juicy vibrancy, traditional skin contact, and reverse saignée—create a bright, fruit-forward profile, followed by 10 months élevage in mostly neutral oak before finishing in stainless steel (13% abv).Bright ruby in the glass with a slight chillable spritz that blows off quickly, it bursts with aromas of ripe raspberry, hibiscus, red plum, and pomegranate, laced with subtle spice, wet stone, and cocoa hints. The palate is juicy and refreshing—intense berry fruit, lively acidity, and a fleshy yet lithe texture that dances with energy and a long, playful finish.True to its name ("glou glou" is French onomatopoeia for glug-glug), this is unfussy, crushable joy in a bottle: serve chilled for backyard barbecues, pizza nights, burgers, grilled meats, or tomato-based dishes. It's the ultimate food-friendly, crowd-pleasing red—vibrant now and best enjoyed young.
