Crafted by four friends—Nicolas Grosbois, Philippe Mesnier, Baptiste Lardeux, and Vivien Blot—at their collaborative natural wine project in Le Pressoir, Touraine Azay-le-Rideau, Loire Valley, Tête Rosé is a fresh and lively expression of the region’s terroir. This organic rosé is a blend of 60% Grolleau and 40% Gamay, sourced from 25-year-old vines grown on clay-limestone and sandy soils near the Château de Rigny-Ussé. Hand-harvested and vinified with minimal intervention, the grapes undergo direct pressing and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, with no fining, no filtration, and minimal sulfur (1 mg/L) added at bottling.
The 2023 vintage pours a vibrant salmon pink, offering delicate aromas of summer berries—think strawberries and red currants—laced with hints of herbes de Provence and a touch of citrus zest. On the palate, it’s crisp, light, and refreshing, with a juicy, slightly acidic profile and a clean, mineral-driven finish. At around 12% ABV, this “vin de copains” (wine for friends) is perfect for casual sipping, pairing beautifully with light appetizers, fresh cheeses, salads, or tomato-based dishes like gazpacho. True to Les Tètes’ philosophy, Tête Rosé is an unpretentious, fruit-forward wine that embodies friendship and the joy of sharing
