Passione Natura's "ArtOrange" Vino Macerato is a radiant, skin-contact orange wine that captures the wild spirit of Abruzzo's Pescara hills in central Italy, where the innovative Passione Natura project—launched in 2014 by French winemaker Eric Narioo alongside a collective of independent Abruzzese growers (UVA: Unione Vignaioli Abruzzesi)—champions biodynamic farming across clay-rich, alluvial soils in the Popoli area. This expressive cuvée blends 70% Malvasia with 30% Moscato, hand-harvested in early October from certified organic and biodynamic vines, yielding a vibrant, amber-hued natural wine that honors the region's ancient viticultural traditions with modern, minimal-intervention flair.Grapes are gently pressed and fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, undergoing a generous 26-day skin maceration to extract nuanced tannins and golden color, followed by natural settling and six months of bottle aging—unfiltered, unfined, vegan, with just 15 mg/L of added sulfites for purity. At 12.5% ABV, it's a dry, medium-bodied revelation of low-sugar elegance, free from synthetic additives. In the glass, it glows with a luminous copper-orange sheen, releasing an enchanting bouquet of orange peel, ripe apricot, and tropical fruits like passionfruit and mango, woven with delicate white flowers, candied citrus zest, and whispers of Mediterranean herbs and spice. The palate unfolds with textured silkiness: flavors of candied lemon, juicy peach, and a subtle nuttiness dance alongside bright, laser-like acidity and a gentle tannic grip, culminating in a refreshingly complex, sapid finish that lingers with earthy intrigue.
