Domaine de la Pépière Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie 2023 is a crisp, mineral-driven white wine from the Loire Valley, crafted by organic winemakers Gwénaëlle Croix, Rémi Branger, and Nicolas Bonnet. Made from 100% Melon de Bourgogne grapes grown on granite, gneiss, and mica-schist soils in the Sèvre et Maine appellation, this wine comes from vines averaging 25–60 years old. Hand-harvested grapes undergo gentle pressing and spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in underground glass-lined vats. Aged on its lees for 6–8 months without racking, it develops a subtle creamy texture while retaining vibrant freshness. Expect a pale straw color with aromas of green apple, lemon zest, white flowers, and wet stone, accented by a saline, iodine-like minerality. On the palate, it’s dry, precise, and refreshing, with crisp acidity, citrus, and a chalky, lingering finish. At 12% ABV, this classic Muscadet is a perfect match for oysters, seafood, or light salads. Serve chilled at 8–10°C for a quintessential Loire experience.
