Stirm Wine Co. Neptunite Rosé 2024 is a vibrant, mineral-driven rosé from California's historic Cienega Valley in San Benito County, crafted by winemaker Ryan Stirm. Named after the rare neptunite gemstone discovered in the region's remote mines—often alongside the ultra-rare benitoite—this wine celebrates the rugged, ancient terroir of granite-limestone gravel soils, warm days, and cooling breezes that yield bright, structured wines from old vines. The 2024 vintage is a unique field blend: 58% old-vine Riesling (planted 1964, Wirz Vineyard), 34% Chenin Blanc(planted 1997, Gimelli Vineyard), and 4% each ancient-vine Cabernet Pfeffer and Pinot Noir for subtle color, tannin, and complexity. Organically farmed and hand-harvested, the grapes undergo minimal-intervention winemaking: Riesling sees 24 hours whole-cluster maceration for added texture and aromatics before pressing; Chenin is direct-pressed. No initial sulfur allows gentle oxidation; spontaneous fermentation in tank and neutral barrels, full malolactic conversion, and aging on fine lees. Unfined, lightly filtered for clarity, with low sulfur additions. Bottled April 2025 in just 200 cases—completely dry, electric acidity, and a lithe 12.5% ABV.Aromatic and juicy, it bursts with lychee, nectarine, tangerine zest, orange blossom, soft raspberry, rhubarb, and apricot, laced with floral perfume, subtle barrel spice, and a crisp, ethereal wave of fruit riding vibrant acidity.
