Vignerons d’Estézargues “Rosa Bonheur” Pét-Nat Brut Nature Rosé 2023 is a vibrant, joyful, and wonderfully pure natural sparkling rosé from the Southern Rhône Valley in France, produced by the pioneering organic cooperative Les Vignerons d’Estézargues in the village of Estézargues (Gard).

This certified-organic wine is made from a classic southern Rhône field blend — 59% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 9% Carignan, 8% Mourvèdre, 5% Counoise, and 4% Syrah — grown on red clay soils dotted with galets (rounded river stones) from vines averaging 25 years old.

It is vinified using the ancestral method (Méthode Ancestrale / Pétillant Naturel – Pét-Nat): the grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts only, and the wine is bottled while fermentation is still active. The fermentation finishes naturally inside the bottle, trapping its own CO₂ to create lively, fine bubbles. No tirage, no added dosage, and zero grams of sugar added — a true Brut Nature (0 g/L residual sugar).

It pours a lovely pale salmon-pink with energetic, persistent bubbles. The nose is fresh and aromatic, offering notes of wild strawberry, raspberry, white peach, red currant, zesty pink grapefruit, and delicate rose-petal florals with a whisper of Provençal garrigue herbs.

On the palate, it is crisp, dry, and supremely refreshing — juicy red-berry fruit, bright citrus lift, a chalky mineral edge, and a clean, vibrant finish. At 13% alcohol, it’s light on its feet yet packed with sunny southern French character.

“Rosa Bonheur” (meaning “Pink Happiness,” named after the celebrated French painter) is the perfect aperitif and pairs beautifully with fresh oysters, sushi, charcuterie, goat-cheese salads, grilled vegetables, prosciutto-wrapped melon, or light Mediterranean and Asian dishes.
